CBD Punjab marked Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day with a series of vibrant celebrations filled with patriotic zeal, unity, and community participation. This year’s festivities revolved around the newly inaugurated CBD Route 47, serving as both a tribute to national history and a symbol of modern progress.
The celebrations began with a cycling event titled “Ride for Unity”, held on Route 47. Cyclists from Lahore’s local clubs, including men, women, and children, joined the rally symbolizing national solidarity and received enthusiastic participation from citizens across all walks of life. At the finish line, a flag-hoisting ceremony and cake cutting further amplified the patriotic spirit. Brigadier (R) Mansoor Janjua, COO CBD Punjab, graced the event as chief guest and extended warm Independence Day greetings.
The Independence Day fervor continued with official ceremonies at the CBD Punjab Complex, where CEO CBD Punjab Imran Amin, hoisted the national flag alongside senior management and staff. The ceremony began with the national anthem, followed by prayers for Pakistan’s prosperity and unity. Addressing the gathering, Imran Amin highlighted the importance of the day: “On this historic day, we remember the vision, sacrifices, and determination that gave us an independent homeland. CBD Punjab stands committed to translating that spirit into action by building world-class infrastructure, creating economic opportunities, and promoting sustainable urban development. Our initiatives aim to shape a modern Punjab while contributing to a stronger, prosperous Pakistan.”
Later, Route 47 and Kalma Underpass transformed into a hub of celebrations, lit up with spectacular illuminations, bike rallies, and a symbolic flag march. Citizens were joined by representatives of key government departments including the Punjab Enforcement Regulatory Authority (PERA), Rescue 1122, City Traffic Police, and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Motorcycle clubs and car enthusiasts also participated, filling the air with chants of “Pakistan Zindabad”. The roar of engines and the sea of green flags created an electrifying atmosphere that reflected Lahore’s patriotic spirit.
The Independence Day events at CBD Punjab not only celebrated Pakistan’s freedom but also sent out a resounding message of unity, progress, and hope for a prosperous future.
