Previously serving as Federal Caretaker Minister for Communications, Maritime Affairs, and Railways (August 2023 - March 2024), Shahid Tarar provided visionary leadership during a pivotal time for the nation. His tenure as Chairman and member of the Federal Public Service Commission (January 2021 - August 2023) further demonstrated his dedication to transparency and efficiency in civil service recruitment. Internationally, as Executive Director at the World Bank Group (2018-2021), he not only represented Pakistan and its allied countries but also chaired the influential Human Resources Committee, contributing to global development strategies.
His tenure as Chairman of the National Highway Authority (2014-2017) marked successful execution of landmark infrastructure projects, including key initiatives under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). His previous roles as Federal Secretary for Communications, Secretary for Excise & Taxation Punjab, Director General at NAVTTC, and Head of the Trade & Economic Section at the Consulate General of Pakistan in Los Angeles highlight his extensive expertise across governance, infrastructure, and economic development
